See the Light & Save Money
Who would have thought a trip to a local fair would have resulted in hundreds of dollars in FREE light bulbs! After speaking to National Grid representatives at the fair, we were encouraged to schedule an energy audit and provided with some tips on reducing the amount of electrical energy in our homes. Tips included lowering the thermostat, installing ceiling fans, and using energy star appliances such as front loading washing machines and dryers. After multiple phone calls in hopes of finding the right company to service condominium complexes, Conservation Services Group, a contract company of National Grid, came to our condo to complete an electrical audit, all FREE courtesy of a grant funded program. Peter Marra was the representative who completed the audit and informed us that the grant provides free, compact flourescent, energy efficient light bulbs to all condo association members for each inside fixture. The program will upgrade any common area light fixtures for $20 each, also providing free light bulbs in the common areas as well! For those who have outdated appliances, the grant also provides rebates to update to energy star refrigerators. What a fantastic way for the association and each individual unit to save money not only on monthly electrical bills, but also with replacing the light bulbs with more efficient ones, free of charge. This program is also available on an individual residential basis. Call MassSave at 866-527-7283 for more information. Contact information for Peter Marra at Conservation Services Group who services Condos or multiple residential complexes is 508-836-9500 ext 13244. For Businesses the program is called CNI which stands for Commercial and Industrial and MassSave will have more information.
